There’s nothing like a wedding to bring tears of joy. Four-year-old Gage learned this the hard way when he got emotional as his father, US Marine Corps Sergeant Joshua Newville, married Senior Airman Emily Leehan in Ripley, New York. Gage was holding it together until Leehan read vows she’d written just for him.
As Leehan began, saying, “I want you to be safe, try your hardest, and be a good person,” Gage broke down, hugging her tightly. Leehan continued, telling him, “You are a special boy… smart, handsome, and kind. I may not have given you the gift of life, but life gave me the gift of you.”
The emotional moment touched everyone, with Leehan and Newville also shedding tears. Gage stole the show, and the video of him hearing Leehan’s vows became a reminder of the power of love. Afterward, the newlyweds returned to active duty at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, starting their married life together.
What a beautiful ceremony, and a timely reminder of the power of love. We wish Joshua and Emily all the best in their lives together.
