I Was Publicly Humiliated for Bringing My Late Mom’s Dish to My In-Laws’ Family Dinner

I’m 25 and newly married to my loving husband, 28. Last weekend, I brought a dish from my late mom’s recipes to my in-laws’ dinner. My MIL glared at me and said, “Get your mother’s food out of my house!” Devastated, I left and waited in the car. Later, my husband laughed about a joke from dinner, not even noticing my absence or his mom’s insult.

This was only my second gathering with his family and the third time meeting my MIL. My mom passed away a year before our wedding, and my MIL never met her. I can’t understand her hostility or my husband’s indifference. He hasn’t apologized or addressed my feelings, leaving me hurt and struggling to move forward.
