I Didn’t Invite My MIL’s Family for Christmas—and She Betrayed Me

Every Christmas, we spend time with my husband’s family, but we both hate it because they’re so intrusive. After a traumatic event, we told my MIL we didn’t want to see them this year, and it led to a fight.

That night, my FIL came over, upset that my MIL had shared our pregnancy loss with the whole family and badmouthed me. He asked me not to escalate things, so I decided to consider forgiveness. However, I later learned that my MIL was agreeing with her family’s hurtful comments about me, including blaming me for the miscarriage. I’m heartbroken and don’t know how to handle this. Should I just let it go or stand my ground?
