Rumors suggest that Dan Bongino, former Fox News host and ex-Secret Service agent, might be Donald Trump’s pick to lead the US Secret Service (USSS). Bongino, a vocal critic of the agency, has condemned its failures, including two assassination attempts on Trump.
Forbes reported that Trump is considering Bongino or Sean Curran for the role, while Bongino previously called the first attempt a “catastrophic failure” by the USSS. Former USSS Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned after bipartisan criticism over the agency’s incompetence.
Trump has been meeting at Mar-a-Lago to shape his second-term agenda with right-wing allies, billionaire backers, and groups like the America First Policy Institute. They’re crafting executive actions and vetting key personnel, with Bongino among the names in play.
Bongino recently went viral for accusing Republicans like Kellyanne Conway of sabotaging Trump’s campaign and choice of JD Vance as a running mate, dismissing media claims of Trump regretting the pick as “absolute bullsh*t.”
