ABC News, Stephanopoulos Agree To Pay $15 Million Fine For Defaming Trump

George Stephanopoulos and ABC News were fined and forced to apologize to President-elect Donald Trump after a heated interview in March. The anchor accused South Carolina Rep. Nancy Mace of supporting a “rapist” by endorsing Trump, referencing legal findings against him.

Mace, a rape survivor, responded emotionally, saying, “I’ve lived 30 years with shame over being raped… I’m not going to sit here and be shamed about another potential rape victim.” Stephanopoulos insisted it was about Trump, but Mace accused him of shaming her directly.
