Chasing My Grandmother’s Secret Recipes

My grandmother was an incredible cook, turning simple ingredients into divine dishes. Unfortunately, she passed away when I was young, leaving no recipes or secrets behind. Growing up, I missed her cooking, as my mother’s food was bland and uninspired. As I began cooking myself, I experimented with various recipes, but sometimes, flavors from my childhood would unexpectedly resurface.

Once, in an upscale restaurant in France, I tasted a meat sauce that reminded me exactly of my grandmother’s. Similarly, a small bakery in Italy had cakes that tasted just like hers. Despite these coincidences, I could never uncover the recipes. How could someone who never left her small town create such amazing dishes? It’s a mystery I still hope to solve, hoping to one day find her magic cookbook.
