I Want to Name Our Baby After My Childhood Dog, My Husband Hates the Idea

When I was a kid, my family got a dog, and we named her Haley. We grew up side by side, and she passed away a few years ago. I was heartbroken. Now, I’m 8 months pregnant. I told my husband I’d love to name our daughter Haley, in memory of my dog. He was horrified.

The next day, he suggested an ultimatum: if our families are on board with the idea, we’ll go ahead with it. So, I brought it up to my parents, hoping they support me, but they immediately disagreed. It felt like they didn’t care about Haley the way I did, and it left me on the verge of tears. My husband’s family also had a similar reaction.

Now, I’m torn about what to do.
