I Forced My Stepmother Out of My Dad’s House — I’m Having My Wedding There

I’m getting married in my dad’s backyard and banned my stepmom because my mom dislikes her. She yelled, “Are you throwing me out of my own house?” I said, “It’s MY dad’s house, and you’re just living in it!”

On the day, she wasn’t there, and I thought all was well. But then I realized my dad had left, along with my stepsiblings, and most of my dad’s side of the guests were absent. When I called him, he said, “If you disrespect my wife in her home, don’t expect me to be there. Enjoy your day with those you chose.” I was shocked. My stepmom had manipulated my dad, ruining my day. I carried on with fewer guests, without my dad and half-siblings, and the day felt bitter. I feel punished for wanting my wedding my way.

Was I wrong?
