New York Attorney General Letitia James held a tense press conference following President-Elect Trump’s historic victory on Tuesday.
“So here we are. We’ve studied their platforms, identified possibilities, and created contingency plans. We’re ready for whatever the next administration throws at us,” James said. “We’ll respond to any cuts or funding eliminations affecting New York as the governor outlined. Despite the national outcome, we will stand against injustice and protect the vulnerable. It is my duty to lead that fight with Governor Kathy Hochul.”
James, who campaigned on prosecuting Trump, pursued civil fraud case that fined him $100 million over alleged property value inflation, though experts expect it to be overturned. Fox News legal analyst called her speech “one of the most distasteful” responses by an elected official, adding, “She did everything to destroy Trump and failed. How do I know? Because Trump won.”
