A girl shared her experience of being asked to move from a seat reserved for disabled passengers on a crowded train. After explaining she needed the seat due to her prosthetic leg, the woman who initially confronted her brought the conductor to force her to move.
At this point, the girl revealed her prosthetic by rolling up her pant leg, which made the woman leave, embarrassed. The girl later questioned if she should have mentioned her prosthetic earlier but explained that it’s a sensitive topic for her. Many others shared similar stories, where people mistakenly assumed they didn’t have disabilities due to their appearance, only for them to have to prove it later. Some noted that it’s unfortunate that people often get defensive instead of simply apologizing when they’re proven wrong.
