Former President Barack Obama released a statement after Vice President Kamala Harris’s election loss to former President Donald Trump. In a social media post, Obama acknowledged some factors behind Harris’s defeat.
“As I said on the campaign trail, America has been through a lot over the last few years — from a historic pandemic and related price hikes to rapid change and the feeling many have that, despite hard work, they’re just treading water,” Obama stated. “Those conditions have created challenges for democratic incumbents globally, and last night showed that America is not immune.”
