My Husband Decided to Help His Ex-Wife Ruining Our Future

We’d been working so hard, dreaming for years about finally getting our own home. But then, his ex-wife fell ill. Her treatments were outrageously expensive.

He looked at me with guilt in his eyes and said, “I can’t just leave her like this. She’s our son’s mother, and she’s all alone.” I was furious inside. Why should we suffer because she didn’t plan for her future? He claimed it was his money, but what about our dreams? What about us? I acted like I understood, but inside, I was boiling with resentment.

So, I made my move. I took the money we’d been saving and made the down payment on a house. I thought I was securing our future. When he found out, he lost it. He came storming in, yelling that I had betrayed him, that I had no right to touch that money without his approval. But I did it for us! For our family! His ex-wife shouldn’t be our problem anymore, but now he’s shutting me out, saying he might even leave.

I feel lost. What should I do?
